The Gettysburg College Orchestra launches its ambitious Beethoven Project with two symphonic masterworks. Beethoven's Fourth Symphony, often overshadowed by the revolutionary "Eroica" that preceded it and the iconic Fifth that followed, reveals a different side of the composer. One brimming with virtuosic brilliance and lyrical beauty. This hidden gem rewards both performers and audiences with its technical challenges and expressive depth.

The program continues with Beethoven's beloved Seventh Symphony, whose haunting second movement has captivated audiences for two centuries. This music has graced the soundtracks of acclaimed films including The King's Speech, Mr. Holland's Opus, Immortal Beloved, and the series Westworld, introducing Beethoven's genius to new generations of listeners.
